2015 Float Your Boat Sponsorship

We are pleased to announce that the sixth annual Float Your Boat Festival has been scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2015. Float Your Boat offers a fun-filled day at the Preserve that features an 8k trail run, balsa wood boat races, the City of Pinson’s “Beat the Heat” ice cream give-away, and a fun zone for kids. Last year more than 1,200 people attended the event, and this year promises to be even more successful and fun for the entire family. The festivities will kick off with a trail run at 8:00 am, followed by the family fun zone opening at 10:00 am and boat races starting at noon.

We would be delighted if you would consider sponsoring the Float Your Boat Festival at one of the three Darter levels (see attachment). Turkey Creek Nature Preserve contains some of the most biologically diverse habitats in this region of Alabama. The waters of Turkey Creek are home to three endangered species of fish: the Vermilion Darter, the Watercress Darter, and the Rush Darter. The Vermilion Darter lives only in Turkey Creek and nowhere else in the world. All proceeds from the Float Your Boat Festival benefit TCNP’s environmental education, youth outreach, and habitat preservation programs.
